New Delhi: Indians evacuated from Port Sudan have been put up in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah city while a third Navy ship, INS Tarkash, has purportedly reached Port Sudan today, April 27, to help with more evacuation operations.Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra held a press conference, on which The Hindu reported, in which he thanked Saudi Arabia for the assistance in evacuating Indian citizens.Notes from JeddahA school in Jeddah – the International Indian School – has been converted to be used as dormitories, a man who was evacuated from Port Sudan to Jeddah by the Indian Air Force, told The Wire.“The Kerala Muslim Cultural volunteers are coming here to help us after work. Yesterday on 26th April, another batch of 297 Indians have sailed out on INS Teg and two more sorties of C-130J to evacuate 264 Indians,” he said.INS Tarkash is thus the third ship to join the evacuation.Kwatra has confirmed that Port Sudan and Jeddah will act as transit stops before Indians are transported back to the country after being evacuated from places like Khartoum and its neighbourhood regions.
