New Delhi: The West Asia crisis triggered by the US and Israel’s war on Iran entered day 104 on Thursday (June 11).Iran’s top joint military command on Thursday said that it has “completely” closed the Strait of Hormuz and barred the passage of all vessels including oil tankers and commercial ships. Iran has said that any vessel that will attempt passage will be shot at.After renewed escalation between the two countries, the US on Thursday targeted several areas inside Iranian territory.The US Central Command said it completed its latest round of airstrikes just daybreak on Thursday in Iran. The central command said the strikes targeted military surveillance, communications and air defence sites and were carried out by the US air force, marines and navy. It did not elaborate on the damage done by the strikes.Explosions from the strikes echoed around Iran’s capital, Tehran, as well as in the port city of Bandar Abbas and other southern areas along the strait.Kuwait has said that it has closed its airspace and that flights were being diverted to alternative airports.
