Today is day 103 since the US-Israel war on Iran started. After the United States attacked a tanker vessel carrying 24 Indian nationals – three of whom are missing as a result – off the Omani coast, India summoned the US’s charge d’affaires and deputy chief of mission in New Delhi, Jason Meeks, to lodge its protest. It also issued a statement condemning the attack, though without naming the US.Earlier, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it attacked the US fifth fleet in Bahrain and an airbase in Jordan in response to US strikes around the Strait of Hormuz earlier. Meanwhile, Kuwait said their defences were intercepting incoming projectiles from Iran. IRGC said that they have hit four sites at the US Al Azraq airbase in Jordan using long range missiles. The Iranian strike was initiated this time on Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait only after the US military Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on X that it had targeted Iranian air defence, ground control stations and surveillance radar sites near the strait as a measure of “self-defence strikes” in response to what US President Donald Trump said was the downing of a US Apache helicopter on Tuesday. Now, the escalation of violence indicates that a deal to end the war, that was started by the US-Israeli forces by attacking Iran, may take time to materialise. Please wait for a few seconds for the live blog to load.
