New Delhi: While the nation still reels from the Muzaffarpur scandal, where 34 girls were allegedly sexually abused in a state-run shelter home, a 16-year-old French national has alleged that she was assaulted earlier this month by the father of an Indian student at whose home she was staying. The Indian student had stayed with the French teenager in France as part of a student exchange programme in May-June this year, the Indian Express reported. When the French girl arrived in India on October 13, she was assigned to stay with the same student whose parents received her at the airport, as per the complaint she has registered.According to the girl, on October 18, around 8 pm, the India girl’s father walked into the room when she was alone and packing her bags (she was headed for a trip) and asked to keep her passport, while also offering suggestions to her on what to pack. This was when he reportedly first touched her inappropriately. Although she went back to packing, “hoping” that the father would go away, he allegedly assaulted her. She has stated this in her complaint too. Also read: Two Shillong Priests Accused of Sexual Abuse; Probe to BeginA case was registered on October 23 at Neb Sarai police stations under IPC Section 354 (molestation) and Section 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (sexual assault), the Indian Express report said.
