In an interview to The Wire, environmentalist and executive director at the Centre for Science and Environment Anumita Roychowdhury discussed the Delhi National Capital Region’s spike in air pollution during the winters. Spikes are also witnessed around Diwali and when farmers in neighbouring state burn the stubble of crops.She says stubble burning was only one of the factors contributing to the pollution in the region and how a comprehensive plan is needed to address air pollution.
