New Delhi: Passengers of the Howrah-to-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express had a narrow escape after a fire broke out in seven coaches of the Secunderabad-bound train.According to local reports, a short circuit in one of the compartments resulted in a fire, which spread to other coaches. The incident took place between Pagidipalli and Bommaipalli in the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana.Thick black smoke engulfed the coaches S3, S4, and S5 coaches. Passengers had to jump out of the compartments before the flames spread and to save themselves, Indian Express reported.Taking to Twitter, Telangana Police chief, Anjani Kumar, said there are no fatalities in the incident, and the affected coaches were detached and the train continued its journey.“All passengers were safely evacuated and shifted in buses after a fire broke out in the Falaknuma Express near Bhongir rural PS limits. The police, Fire department, and Railways are working in coordination. So far, no fatalities have been reported. Out of 18 coaches, 11 were detached and taken away safely.
