New Delhi: Efforts will be made to bring back former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Bangladesh, only if the country’s Law Ministry gives such instructions, the Mohammad Touhid Hossain, adviser to the country’s foreign ministry in the interim government, has said.“What I have come to know is that she (Hasina) resigned and the resignation letter is with the President. This has been confirmed. If the Law Ministry tells us to write a letter to bring her back, I will do so,” said Hossain, reported Channel 24 on Sunday (August 11).However, Hossain said that he will not supersede the law ministry and will wait for the latter’s instructions in this regard.Channel 24 reported that Hossain, the equivalent of Foreign Minister in the interim government of Bangladesh, also appealed to the people of the country to see India as a close friend.Hossain added that the interim government will investigate every death that took place in the quota movement which led to the fall of Hasina’s regime.Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus was sworn in as the chief adviser of the interim government of Bangladesh, following the dramatic fall of the Awami League-led government of Sheikh Hasina and her subsequent escape to India.Along with Yunus, President Mohammad Shahabuddin administered the oath of office to 13 additional advisers on August 8 in Dhaka. The interim government consists of 16 advisers led by chief adviser Yunus.
