New Delhi: Two Indian army soldiers were killed in an accidental blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday (June 10), the Kashmir Observer reported.The blast took place in Uri sector’s Kamalkote area, the report said. The two soldiers, hailing from Maharashtra, have been identified as Arjun Jadhav and Vikram Balakrishna. They belonged to the 8 Rashtriya Rifles.According to an anonymous official cited in the report, the soldiers sustained critical injuries during the accidental explosion. They were rushed to Army’s base hospital but could not be revived.Details about the explosion are awaited.“I salute the supreme sacrifice of our bravehearts. The nation shall remain forever grateful to their selfless devotion to duty. We stand united in solidarity with the families of the martyrs in this hour of grief,” Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said.Srinagar-based Army’s Chinar Corps also paid tribute to the soldiers. “Their unwavering courage, devotion and selfless service will continue to inspire generations. We salute their indomitable valour and sacrifice. We stand firmly with the bereaved families in this hour of grief and remain committed to their dignity and well-being.”
