New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on March 3 (Tuesday) arrested a father and his daughter for their alleged role in providing logistical support to the suicide bomber who had attacked a Central Reserve Police Force convoy last year in Pulwama. As many as 40 paramilitary jawans were killed in the attack.According to a report in the Economic Times, the NIA team along with the army and local police raided the residence of 50-year-old Tariq Ahmed Shah. Shah, who is a driver by profession, and his 23-year-old daughter Insha Jan were immediately taken into custody. Another news report in The Hindu claims that the duo’s house was allegedly used to shoot the bomber’s last video by the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM).“Ms. Jan facilitated the terrorists at their home and provided food and other logistics on more than 15 occasions during 2018 and 2019. She was in constant touch with Muhammad Umar Farooq, a Pakistani improvised explosive device (IED) maker, over telephone and other social media applications,” an NIA spokesman is quoted in The Hindu said. The NIA claims that Shah, during his initial interrogation, has disclosed that the suicide bomber, Adil Ahmed Dar, and his Pakistani associates had stayed in the house. The NIA spokesperson is quoted as having told The Hindu that besides providing shelter, the house was used for planning the heinous attack on the CRPF convoy. “It was also used for preparing and recording a video of Dar, which was released by JeM soon after the attack,” an NIA officer said. Also read: Amidst Outrage Over Pulwama Accused Getting Bail, NIA Denies ReportsThe NIA, in a statement, said Dar, a JeM fidayeen who rammed an explosive-laden car into a CRPF convoy on February 14 last year on a highway at Lethpora, also stayed at Shah’s residence.Shah’s family members told ET that the NIA had raided their house three times since February 29. “They came on Saturday around 8:30 pm and left at around 2 am.
