New Delhi: Following a Supreme Court order upholding the Delhi high court’s judgment on a decades-old land acquisition claim, over 150 houses have been demolished to widen a road in Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh. The residents, mostly low-income workers, have lived in the locality for over 50 years and report that the government had previously recognised their settlement rights through documents and conveyance deeds.
