New Delhi: After veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah shared a video on his Instagram page and expressed his solidarity with the student protesters seeking accountability from the Union government over repeated instances of question paper leaks and a failing education system, the video appeared to be first removed from Instagram but was later restored. Moreover, during the time when the video couldn’t be viewed, Shah’s account had also disappeared from the popular social media platform before being visible again after a gap of few hours. On early Wednesday (July 22), Shah had shared the video on his Instagram handle @naseeruddin49, condemning the crackdown against students.“Aadab, namaskar. Main Naseeruddin Shah do baatein arz karna chahta hun aap sabse. Pehli baat toh ye hai ki agar ek jahil is mulk ki rehnumai kare, toh uska dil yahi chahega ki pura mulk usi ki tarah jahil, nasamajh, nakabil aur beraham bane. (Aadab, Namaskar. I, Naseeruddin Shah, want to tell you two things. First, if an ignorant person were to lead this country, his heart would desire that the entire country become just as ignorant, unintelligent, worthless, and ruthless.),” said Shah in the video.Legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah shares a video, fuming about the way youth were beaten up yesterday in Delhi. Meri puri hamdardi unke saath hai. Main unhe hazar hazar har saans ke saath duwayein deta hun, aur har teachers’ day par unhe salam karta hun (despite completing two separate acting courses at the National School of Drama and the Pune Film Institute, most of what I learned about acting came from the students I tried to teach. My full sympathy is with them. I bless them with all my heart and salute them every Teachers’ Day),” Shah said in the video.‘Students brutally treated by thugs who reminded me of US ICE agents’Shah added that he was angry at the way the student protesters were treated.“Is Waqt mera dil bhi bhara hua hai, aur main gusse se khaul bhi raha hun ye dekhkar ki hamare in bacchon ke saath kis tarah zulm ka bartav kiya ja raha hai, un gundon ke haathon, jo mujhe America ke ICE agents ki yaad dilate hain, muh pe nakab lagaye hue, haath mein danda liye hue, kabhi apne bacchon ke baare mein bhi socha karo aur ye bhi socho ki tumhara anjam tumhein bhi ek din milega zarur. In sab bacchon se main kehna chahta hun ki himmat na haarein, bahur se logon ki humdardi aapke saath hain. Bahut se log aapke saath hain. Aap ladte rahein. Mujhe hamare mulk ki yuva pidhi se hamesha ummeed rahi hai aur ab vo ummeed aur ujagar ho gayi hai. Aap log apni ladai ladte rahein. Hum sab aapke saath hain (My heart is heavy right now, and I’m seething with anger at the way these children of ours are being brutally treated by thugs who remind me of American ICE agents, masked and wielding batons. Sometimes, think about your own children, and remember that you too will meet your fate one day. I want to tell all these children not to lose courage; the sympathy of many is with you. Many people are with you. You keep fighting. I’ve always had hope for our country’s youth, and now that hope has become even stronger. You all keep fighting your battle. We are all with you.),” said a visibly emotional Shah in video.“Aur is mulk ki hukumat ko main sirf itna kehna chahta hun – sab yaad rakha jayega (And I want to say only this much to the government of this country – everything will be remembered),” said Shah. After Shah released the video, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) shared the video from its official X handle, thanking the actor for his solidarity.“Legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah shares a video, fuming about the way youth were beaten up yesterday in Delhi.
