New Delhi: Days after the Nuh violence in Haryana, the district administration on Saturday, August 5, carried out new demolitions, destroying houses and shops belonging to local residents. This was the third day of the demolition as authorities razed dozens of shops, near Shaheed Hassan Khan Mewati Hospital in Nalhar. These shops have been there for nearly three years, NDTV reported. (Nalhar is a village in Nuh tehsil in Mewat district. Mewat district was renamed Nuh in 2016.)Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ashwani Kumar told the Indian Express that in the Nuh district, some of the owners of the demolished structures were involved in the violence.Interestingly, his statement comes a day after officials denied the demolitions’ connection with the communal violence.“Illegal construction was removed from 2.6 acres of land in front of Nalhar Medical College. Notices were already given to the owners of the demolished structures.
