The police used white sheets to form a cover around Wangchuk while they moved him. The government has completely ignored us students and Wangchuk for 20 days. Now, on top of that, on the 21st day they are trying to use violence and force to put us in hospital.”Earlier, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das had said on X that CJP founder Dipke had been surrounded by the police where he was staying, as did NCP spokesperson Anish Gawande at whose house Dipke was staying. Dipke said that he had been “beaten and put under detention” by the police. After that, he appears to have been allowed to go to the protest site. “Delhi Police ne aaj itni giri hui harkat kari hai (Delhi Police has stooped so low today),” he said while addressing the sloganeering crowds.CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke’s video message after he was let go by the Police – once the Police had successfully kidnapped Sonam Wangchuk from Jantar Mantar. He has been beaten up by the Police. The CJP also appears to have changed its demand – while earlier they were calling only for Pradhan’s resignation, after the police action, they have also called for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resignation.Modi must resign!— Cockroach is Back (@Cockroachisback) July 18, 2026Later, while speaking to reporters, Dipke termed Modi a dictator and said, “These aren’t police officers; they are RSS goons. I had returned to my country from abroad; am I a criminal? They are goons –not police, but RSS goons…”Protesters at Jantar Mantar after the police action.
