New Delhi: A number of policemen were seen grappling with lawyers on Saturday (October 10), as they sought to prevent Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protesters from reaching Jantar Mantar in opposition to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. Videos captured by The Wire journalists showed lawyers, including women advocates, being dragged towards a waiting police bus.About 100 Supreme Court and Delhi court lawyers detained by Delhi Police, said Bar and Bench. They were taken to the Yamuna Sports Complex, it said in a post on X. Advocate on Record Sumita Hazarika was among the detained lawyers. “A few lady lawyers were manhandled by nameless constables and taken in a van meant for criminals,” she told the publication. Protesters are being detained in large numbers by Delhi Police, dragged into buses and made to wait.
