Arjun Appadurai is a globally respected cultural anthropologist who has written on culture, globalisation and modernity. In this interview with The Wire’s Sidharth Bhatia, the academic, who has taught at some of the best-known universities in the world, discussed right-wing populism in India and says that while many leaders like Trump may be out of power, at the ground level these ideas have permeated among their supporters.
