New Delhi: A week after the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said that unlike the Ram Temple movement in Ayodhya, the Sangh Parivar will not join any movement for the temples, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday (September 7) in a post on X said that the “dream of the Ram Temple has been fulfilled, now it is the turn of Mathura-Vrindavan.”In a post on X, the BJP quoted an interview given by self-styled godman Baba Bageshwar to a news channel, saying Mathura–Vrindavan is next.“‘Even Lord Ram has been enthroned, now Krishna Kanhaiya will also take his seat…’Baba Bageshwar praised Prime Minister Modi in this manner and said that today faith and tradition are being respected in the country,” the BJP said.“The dream of the Ram Temple has been fulfilled, now it is the turn of Mathura-Vrindavan.”“भगवान राम भी विराजमान हुए, अब कृष्ण कन्हैया भी बैठेंगे…” pic.twitter.com/We4QJHvX02— BJP (@BJP4India) September 7, 2025Last month, Bhagwat while addressing the three-day centenary celebrations of the RSS in New Delhi said that the Sangh Pariwar will not join any movement, its workers or Syamsevaks are free to join any of the movements.“The RSS doesn’t join temple movements; the only one that the RSS joined was the Ram temple movement, and we saw it to its conclusion. The Sangh will not join any more (temple) movements,” he was quoted as saying.“In the Hindu mindset, Kashi, Mathura, and Ayodhya hold great significance – two as birthplaces and one as a place of residence. And so, the Hindu society will have an urge for these places.”While Bhagwat said that the “swayamsevaks are free to join” these movements he also added that in the spirit of brotherhood, Muslim leaders “should also let go of these three.”“We should not look for shivling or mandir in all places, and if I, as the head of a Hindu organisation, is making this announcement, the other side should also let go of these three. This will be a big step for brotherhood,” he said.
