Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has issued a nearly 8-minute-long statement on X (formerly Twitter), in which he addresses Prime Minister Narendra Modi a day after he was released from Delhi Police’s detention. Dipke’s colleagues are still in judicial custody, which was extended by two days by a Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) on Monday, October 19. Here is the full text of what he said, while his closest colleagues, with whom he led and participated in two movements against the Narendra Modi government since May 2026, still in preventive detention in Tihar Jail, Delhi: Narendra Modi, you must be feeling very strong, keeping a 26-year-old, Saurav Das, in jail. You must be feeling very strong, after thrashing children on the road, you must be feeling very strong, after barricading all of Delhi, after dragging all the students through the streets.Saurav and Ashutosh [Ranka] went to Jantar Mantar to fly the national flag. For that, they were sent to five days’ judicial custody. And after that, their hearing was prevented from taking place… Everyday, on some excuse or another, their hearing was deliberately postponed.Bohot strong feel ho raha hoga, Vishwaguru Narendra Modi ko (the World’s Guru, Narendra Modi, must be feeling very powerful), keeping 30-year-old Ashutosh inside jail, keeping 26–27-year-old Saurav Das behind bars. This is strength!Hiding behind the police, hiding behind the courts, this is the ‘strength’ of Narendra Modi.Using the entire state machinery against two youngsters who would be the age of his own grandchildren – had he [Modi] got a family, had he had any children! Saurav Das and Ashutosh would have been the age of his grandchildren. Keeping Saurav and Ashutosh in jail, he feels himself to be very strong. You think you are a very powerful prime minister; you feel you are one. You are just a coward. Let me tell you what strength is. After staying in jail for five days, Saurav Das, a 27-year-old, who had never in his life thought he would ever be sent to jail…Message to Modi https://t.co/44wzkog71Q— Cockroach Janta Party – CJP (@Cockroachisback) October 19, 2026Once I had asked Saurav Das, “How long would you be able to last in jail?” And he had said, “Not even a day!”…So the very same Saurav Das, who thought he would not last a day in prison, said on the fifth day, smiling in court, and when he found out that his judicial custody had been extended, he still does not feel fear. That is strength.Strength is that Ashutosh, lodged in jail for five days, coming to court and not feeling scared. That is strength.Strength is not when you bring the entire police force and hide behind it, when you hide behind other forces, or when you bring all of Delhi to a standstill. Being strong is when you know you are fighting a force much stronger than yourself and when you know what the consequences of taking that force on can be – yet you fight. When you do not go silent [from fear of a stronger adversary] that is real strength. That is the strength that Ashutosh and Saurav Das have.Strength lives in Saurav Das’s mother, whom I spoke to yesterday [October 18, 2026]. I spoke to her because I was worried about them. Even though I had no answers to give her about when Saurav might be released from prison. I told her, “Auntie, don’t be anxious, Saurav is all right.”And she said, “I know he is fine; he is not one to break so easily.”Even the mother whose 26–27-year-old son is in your jail is not scared of you. Because even she knows that her son has more courage than you, more strength that you, and he is not a coward like you, who hides behind state machinery.Strength is in the family of Ashutosh, who, after dealing with so much, still say, “No, we know Ashutosh will not buckle under pressure; he won’t bend.”That is strength – not like you, who is a sell-out to America and [US President Donald Trump]. A little pressure from Trump, and you surrendered the interests of all of India. And you call yourself a strong leader! You are not a strong leader. You are the biggest, biggest coward this country has ever seen. And it is a shame for India that it has a prime minister who is so scared, and so cowardly, that he hides behind police and other forces, who hides behind the system, who does only one thing – think about whether to lock up the children speaking against me [Modi] behind bars in jail or do I drag them through the streets, or somehow or the other silence them. But, Mr Modi, sorry to let you know this, but none of us are scared of you and none of us are going to keep quiet about it. You even sent me to jail twice, and if you think we are going to keep quiet or stop speaking out, you are wrong – this is the misconception that you have. You must have bought over a lot of people and silenced many others, but you cannot silence the youth of the country.Because I have seen how, in the past 12 years, how you have made their lives miserable. What have you done in the name of the jobs that you promised them and which brought you to power? When peole asked for jobs, that right-hand-man of yours said that selling pakodas is also a job. So why has that man put his own son at the helm of the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI)? Why didn’t he make his own son sell pakoda? When the youth ask for jobs, you say selling pakodas is also a job, so why is Jay Shah in BCCI?I am not saying this after a ton of thinking and planning – this is a live message – I don’t need a teleprompter like you do.I was really worried about Ashu and Saurav until this afternoon. But when they came into court smiling, then I also gained courage from them. The Saurav you want to frighten will become an inspiration to the youth of the country – I guarantee you this. Because if you think that by looking at him, the message will go out that those who speak against Modi will be put through such things… In fact, it is having the opposite effect. He is inspiring lakhs of youth not to take a step back [in fear] and not to fear a person like Modi.So you can put your whole police force behind us, you can put all the batallions behind us. You have done this to me and to others who are protesting. Do it! There is nothing else you can do. You don’t have anything else, you cannot do anything except for hiding behind the state machinery. This is what you used in order to finish off the opposition [political parties] in the country that stood against you. And you want to do the same misuse of state machinery in order to silence, frighten and terrorise the youth of the country. There is a movie, if you have seen it, ‘Mary Kom’, which had the dialogue: Don’t frighten someone so much that their fear disappears completely. That is all I want to say to you Mr Modi. That you have tried to scare the youth of the country so much that now the fear within us has vanished. So we will not be scared.(Translated from Dipke’s video post on X in Hindi.)
