New Delhi: An FIR has been lodged against Pramod Jindal, BJP Hapur unit’s general secretary, for using abusive language against a Station House Officer (SHO) and threatening to repeat a “Bulandshahr-like incident”.Jindal had called up Hapur superintendent of police (SP) Sankalp Sharma and used expletives against Subhash Chandra Gautam, Hafizpur SHO, for refusing to release a local BJP leader who is held on charges of assault.Sanjeev Shukla, the PRO of the SP who received the call, told The Indian Express that Jindal threatened to mobilise 200-250 people and “create a Bulandshahr-like incident” for allegedly giving a free hand to cattle smugglers.Also read: Timeline: How the Bulandshahr Violence UnfoldedThe 30-year-old BJP leader, Dushyant, was arrested following an FIR filed at the Hafizpur police station by a local villager after an altercation took place between the two. Dushyant is from the Bhatiana village, which is about 35 km away from Changrawathi village in Bulandshahr where a police officer and an 18-year-old boy were killed after protests over an incident of alleged cow slaughter.“Within 30 minutes of arresting him, the local BJP leaders Pavan Saini and Jindal called me asking me to let go of Dushyant. I refused,” Hafizpur SHO Subhash Chandra Gautam told Jansatta. Shukla reportedly recorded the call and sent the audio clip to higher authorities.According to Navbharat Times, BJP workers plan to escalate the matter to the UP chief minister and file a case against the Hafizpur SHO. “Many village heads have accused the SHO of encouraging cow slaughter. Jindal had called the SP to talk about this matter but lost his cool,” Vikas Aggrawal, district president of the BJP, told Navbharat Times.
