New Delhi: The Election Commission (EC) has issued a notice to Bihar deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Sinha for allegedly possessing two voter cards and being registered as an elector at two places.The notice came just hours after Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday (August 10) claimed Vijay Sinha had two Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) numbers, a charge denied by the BJP leader.“A notice has been served to Sinha for allegedly possessing two voter cards. He has been asked to respond to why he has two voter IDs,” said an official, reported Press Trust of India.In the EC’s letter to deputy CM Sinha, sent by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) for Bankipur assembly constituency has sought Sinha’s reply for having registered as a voter in two different assembly constituencies and possessing two ID cards. Sinha has been asked to send his reply by August 14.“Vijay Kumar Sinha is a voter from two different assembly constituencies in two districts. His name is there in the Lakhisarai assembly constituency in Lakhisarai and also in the Bankipur assembly seat in Patna district,” Yadav, who is leading the RJD’s campaign before the assembly elections in the state later this year, had earlier said on Sunday.
