New Delhi: After a major push from the southern leaders, the Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday, April 15, decided to conduct the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) exam in 13 regional languages.The CAPFs are the Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Sashastra Seema Bal and the National Security Guard.Now the examination will be conducted in Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri and Konkani, in addition to Hindi and English, Hindustan Times reported.“The decision will result in lakhs of aspirants taking part in the examination in their mother tongue/regional language and improve their selection prospects,” the MHA notification said, according to news agency ANI.MHA decides to conduct the Constable (GD) CAPF exams in 13 regional languages, in addition to Hindi and English. Rama Rao had also urged Shah that the test be conducted in states languages as well. He added that the test put students who did not study in English medium or are not from Hindi-speaking states at a disadvantage.
