There was great drama in the centre of Delhi on August 21, 2026, when Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi staged a 7-hour dharna (sit-in) outside the Parliament Street police station. Gandhi had gone there to help Sahil Lochab file a first information report against the person responsible for shooting and seriously injuring him with a pellet gun last month. For seven hours the police refused to lodge a complaint, which led to Gandhi’s dharna. In the end, the police caved in and an FIR was registered. In this episode of ‘The Interview,’ Karan Thapar is joined by former law and external affairs minister Salman Khurshid and Supreme Court advocate Sanjay Hegde to scrutinise the police’s behaviour and question all that was wrong with their initial refusal and reluctance.
