New Delhi: A court in Telangana has granted bail to the state Bharatiya Janata Party chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar, a day after he was arrested over the alleged leak of secondary school exam papers. He had been arrested on Wednesday, April 5, and initially remanded to judicial custody till April 9.Having been granted bail, Kumar, who is the Karimnagar Member of Parliament, walked out of jail today, April 7.He had alleged that his arrest was an act of political vendetta by Bharat Rashtra Samithi chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao. BJP is in the opposition in Telangana.Kumar broadcasted the moments after his release on Twitter. He also posted images of a visit to a temple.Ahead of his arrest, he had tweeted multiple videos of police at his house. He was also ordered to not tamper with evidence and cooperate with the investigation.The Hindi school service exam was held on Monday, April 3, at 9:30 am. Reports said that by 10 am, photos of the questions were circulating on WhatsApp. A journalist had been among those who tweeted the questions to Kumar, who then forwarded it to others, Telangana police is claiming.On the same day, the Class 10 question paper of the statewide Telugu language exam was leaked, allegedly by a teacher in Vikrabad district.In March, government job aspirants in the state protested widely after police confirmed that the question paper of a recruitment exam held by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) on March 5 had been leaked.
