The refurbishing and redesign of the Jallianwala Bagh has angered not just the people of Amritsar but also the rest of India. It was a place of memory and reflection about the people who were killed there over a 100 years ago, now it is a place for selfies, critics say.
The old entrance of the Bagh gave a feeling of melancholy, now it shows a celebration, says K.B.S. Sidhu, a retired IAS officer who served in Amritsar as the deputy commissioner in the 1990s.
