The former Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat says that the Election Commission should have followed T.N.Seshan’s example and give the opposition leaders equal time on Doordarshan as it did to the prime minister. He also reiterated that it was clearly illegal for Election Commission to officially issue ‘Dos and Don’ts’ to one single party – if it is done it should be for all parties that are contesting.
