New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav has announced that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled state will set up “Garbh Sanskar” rooms in government hospitals, with the subject also being taught in all universities.Garbha translates to womb and sanskar means values. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and allied outfits have often claimed that Garbh Sanskar ensures that a baby can learn culture and values in womb and the process continues till the baby gets two years old.Chief minister Yadav on Sunday (February 1) described Garbh Sanskar as a means to empower future generations, and said that the state government is going to institutionalise the practice, reported Press Trust of India.“Even allopathy experts are now acknowledging the importance of Garbh Sanskar. My daughter herself is a gynaecologist, and she too practises Garbh Sanskar at her hospital,” said Yadav, while speaking in Indore during a programme of the ‘Divya Santan Prakalp’, an initiative aimed at promoting ‘Garbh Sanskar’. He also released a book focused on the subject on the occasion.Yadav referred to mythological figures such as Abhimanyu and Ashtavakra and said that Garbh Sanskar has always held special importance in Sanatan culture and can strengthen future generations physically, mentally and morally.He added that a gazette notification would be issued soon to ensure that Garbh Sanskar in all medical universities of the state, reported PTI.The chief minister also announced that in the future, Garbh Sanskar rooms would be set up in government hospitals practising AYUSH and allopathy systems.Veteran RSS leader Suresh ‘Bhaiyyaji’ Joshi, who was also present at the event said that young couples, in particular, should study the subject seriously.
