New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh police have arrested a 22-year-old for allegedly posting a video on prime minister Narendra Modi where purported objectionable remarks were made against him, reported Press Trust of India.According to the police, the accused has been identified as Jitendra Kumar Kashyap. As per Satyanarayan Dahiya, the station house officer (SHO) of the Charthawal police station, the case against Kashyap has been registered under sections 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 353 (statements conducing to public mischief) of BNS and arrested him.Kashyap was arrested on Saturday after the video made by him went viral on social media, reported PTI. The Wire has not been able to find what the video said.Last month, Sangram Patil, a London-based doctor and popular YouTuber known for his sharp criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government was stopped by officials and taken to the Crime Branch for questioning. He was released after over 15 hours of detention.His detention and questioning stemmed from a complaint filed by BJP functionary Nikhil Bhamre. In the complaint, Bhamre, who handles the BJP’s social media accounts, claimed that Patil had posted “objectionable content” on Facebook that tarnished the image of a senior party leader.
