More than two lakh trees are to be cut for a diamond mine, called the Bunder project, in Madhya Pradesh’s drought-prone Bundelkhand. The project has been facing much resistance, but the government seems keen to pursue it none the less in the hopes of finding large diamond reserves.You can read more about the project here.
