New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Thursday (August 6) announced its national agenda titled ‘Kya Bolti Public’, listing out its plan for the coming months starting September 1. The agenda was announced after the conclusion of its two-day session in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, in Maharashtra, where founder Abhijeet Dipke mentioned the same in a press conference.As part of it, the CJP leadership, following its success with the protest in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar that spurred youth agitations across states, has announced it will tour across the country to engage directly with young people in every corner of India and shape a citizen-driven Youth Reform Charter, built around four pillars: holistic education reform, education-to-employment integration, institutional accountability, and solidarity and alliances.Questions had been surfacing around what the CJP decides to do next with their primary mission accomplished, with many wondering if it would disband or deepen the struggle.The group began as online satire, and quickly transformed from into a widespread on-ground protest eventually securing Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over various examination irregularities under his watch – including the NEET paper leak and CBSE on-screen marking scandal.They have clarified that they will remain a pressure group and not enter electoral politics at this stage.“India does not need another political party competing for seats. CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das, spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka and other representatives were also present at the press briefing.Speaking on the CJP’s plan, Dipke said, “During the ‘kya bolti public’ campaign, we will get to know what people think of the present situation in the country and what the issues they face are.”“The fear which this government created in the last 10-12 years in the minds of people has now ended. People will now come onto the streets. Today, they have sought resignation of one person; tomorrow they will demand resignations of others,” Dipke said, as quoted by news agency PTI.Also read: Cockroach Democracy: Unarmed and DangerousHe also highlighted that the protest drew not only students but also jobless youngsters to Jantar Mantar. “Unemployment is a major problem; we will make it a nationwide issue. We will work on education reforms. Education has remained unaffordable since schooling. Education is used for making profits. But we want to change it,” he said.In addition, the CJP founder also said there was a need to bring back the credibility of the media.“CJP will operate as per Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Nehru’s vision for a developed India,” he said, adding, “Our ideology is the same as the Constitution of India.”
