New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Sunday (June 28) rejected Pakistani reports linking India with the recent attack on a Sindh Rangers facility in Karachi. In a statement, the MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal categorically rejected the allegations and said that “Pakistan would do better to look inwards.”“We have seen Pakistani reports making baseless allegations against India regarding the recent incident in Karachi. We categorically reject them. Instead of pointing fingers at others, Pakistan would do better to look inwards, take credible action against the terror infrastructure on its territory and rid itself of its proclivity to rely on terrorism as an instrument of state policy,” said Jaiswal in the statement on Sunday in response to media queries regarding allegations made by Pakistan. On Saturday (June 27), three paramilitary troops were killed and four others were injured in a bomb and gun attack on the Sindh Rangers facility in Karachi, Reuters had reported.Speaking to Reuters, witnesses had said they heard a loud blast which was followed by gunfire along a major road near several universities and Pakistan’s meteorological department.Following the incident, the Pakistani military had issued a statement and said that militants from the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, which is a faction of the Pakistani Taliban had detonated an explosive at the entrance of the Rangers camp in Karachi’s Gulistan-i-Jauhar neighbourhood before opening fire on the troops.
