New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned some of India Inc’s top bosses, including Essel Group promoter Subhash Chandra, Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal and Indiabulls chairman Sameer Gehlaut, to appear before it this week in connection with its money laundering probe against Yes Bank promoter Rana Kapoor and others, officials said on Monday.Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (DHFL) CMD Kapil Wadhawan, who was recently arrested by the ED in another case, has also been called for questioning apart from Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani, who has been called on March 19 at the ED office in Mumbai, they said. These businessmen represent the top five firms that have taken loans from the crisis-hit Yes Bank and these debts were either in the red or were stressed, officials said.Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman had told a press conference on March 6 that the Anil Ambani Group, Essel, IL&FS, DHFL and Vodafone were among the stressed corporates Yes Bank had exposure to.There is no evidence at the moment to indicate that the Essel Group, Indiabulls or Jet Airways are involved in any wrongdoing. Multiple media reports stated that the probe agencies plan on investigating all “big companies” that had taken large loans from Yes Bank. Also read: Behind Yes Bank Crisis, Indiscriminate and Unbridled Lending That Must Be Probed“The money trail is going to be established and probe agencies will explore all bad debts of the bank and why these loans were sanctioned to begin with.
