It is the Medical Council of India and not the Delhi government that is empowered to delicense and punish doctors or hospitals guilty of negligence or malpractice.
The government should keep the secretary of the health department unchanged for three years for him/her to be able to show results. But that has not been happening.
Instituting an All India Health Cadre would ensure that medical professionals are properly trained to tackle the needs and demands of India’s health sector.
