For rural India, a cashless economy is a far-off fantasy.
Earlier this month, we visited Bundelkhand where the rural economy is by and large based on cash transactions. While the government continues to propagate a vision of a cashless and digital India, this seems like a far-off fantasy for the majority of Indians who live in rural societies.
