At least two people have been killed and 16 injured in a nightclub shooting at Fort Myers, Florida. The incident took place early Monday morning at 12:30am ET in the parking lot of Club Blu Bar and Grill.
The victims were between 12 and 27 years old, BBC said. Shots were fired outside in the club’s car park where witnesses described the scene to reporters as a “mad house”.
The club was hosting a “Swimsuit Glow Party” on Sunday night, which was advertised as open to all ages, according to its Facebook page. US news reports say the local police are working to identify the victims, who are all being transported to hospitals by the Lee County Emergency Medical Services . The police are also investigating two related crime scenes at Ortiz Avenue and Park Street, CNN reported. Three people have arrested so far, a BBC report said.
The shooting in Fort Myers comes a month after a shooting at a nightclub in Orlando, Florida, the deadliest mass shooting in US history.
